**The Online Health Sciences Patient Care Technician Specialization degree completion program is open to patient care technicians who hold field-specific certifications as outlined in the College’s Credit for Prior Learning guide. Please navigate to the School of Health Studies, Credit for Completion of Certificate or Diploma Training Program section of the Credit for Prior Learning guide for specific certification requirements.

**The online degree completion option is available to individuals who completed a Surgical Technology program accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Graduates of the degree completion program are not eligible to sit for the Certified Surgical Technology exam using the Berkeley College degree transcript to fulfill NBSTSA eligibility requirements. Berkeley graduates who completed the certificate program and returned for the degree completion are eligible and should contact the program chair for further instructions.
Our programs are developed and regularly updated with input from Advisory Boards of industry experts to ensure that students learn the skills today’s employers demand.
Many Berkeley College programs include an internship, job-related assignment, or practicum in which students are able to apply what they’ve learned in a professional setting for a valuable learning experience.
Berkeley professors are selected for both academic excellence and relevant experience. Many have extensive professional experience in the subjects they teach. Some have run their own companies or held high-level positions with leading firms. Students benefit from their expertise in real-world situations as they prepare for the professional world.
At Berkeley, students can earn a Bachelor's degree in as few as three years and an Associate's degree in as little just 18 months. Berkeley College also makes it possible for high-achieving students in certain programs to complete a BBA or BS and an MBA in Management in as quickly as four years, assuming full-time enrollment in three semesters per year.

At Berkeley College, “stackable credentials” offer the ability to seamlessly continue your education, adding credentials (Certificate program to Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree) to advance your career possibilities and increase your earning potential. You may be able to begin a career in an entry-level position, then advance while working. In some situations, employers may offer tuition assistance to employees continuing their education. The ability to accomplish all this at one college adds to the efficiency—the admissions and credit transfer processes are easier, students are familiar with the infrastructure of the college, as well as the professors and support staff and services.
Yes. The Center for Academic Success at Berkeley College is dedicated to empowering students throughout their academic careers and encouraging their development as successful independent learners. Staff are available days, evenings, and weekends to support students' achievement. From the first term, through graduation, students can access an array of resources to support all academic courses.

At Berkeley, you’ll get close, personal attention in small classes. Our student-to-faculty ration is 17:1.
Yes! Berkeley offers an Honors Program that allows students to study at a more advanced level. Honors students are assigned to small learning communities and participate in Honors Seminars, which are designed to develop students' confidence and critical thinking, research, writing, and oral presentation skills. Honors students receive special recognition at commencement and on their transcripts. Learn more about the Honors Program.
Berkeley makes it possible to balance an education with even the busiest schedule. You can study full- or part-time with on-site (days and evenings/weekends) or online classes—or a combination of both.
Yes! Studying abroad is a great experience that can expose you to new cultures and give you a different perspective on the world. As an enriching experience where learning extends beyond the classroom, it can also be a tremendous benefit when beginning a career. Berkeley College students who are interested in studying abroad may participate in a program through the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC). Eligible students may choose to study in one of nine different countries around the world. Learn more here.
Berkeley College maintains a rolling admissions policy. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. The Committee on Admissions notifies applicants of a decision as soon as all credentials have been evaluated.
Berkeley College considers students for admission to degree and certificate programs on the basis of future potential, the motivation, and interest to succeed in a chosen profession, and past academic achievement.
Graduation from high school or the equivalent is a basic requirement for admission to degree and certificate programs. Applicants to the School of Health Studies have additional requirements. Documentation of successful completion of high school or the equivalent must be submitted to the College prior to starting classes.
A personal interview is strongly recommended. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Director of Admissions at the campus of their choice to arrange for an appointment with an Admissions Associate. SAT/ACT scores are optional when applying to Berkeley College. Placement test scores are also considered for admission.
Campus visits are strongly recommended and can be scheduled on the Berkeley College website or by calling the campus of your choice. For your convenience, virtual tours and open houses are regularly scheduled and include campus tours. Check the website for schedules.

You will be notified soon after completing an application and satisfying all acceptance criteria. Be sure to include all required information, as incomplete applications can delay the admissions process.
Berkeley College views career development and industry exploration as critical elements of education. Career Development specialists are dedicated to assisting students in identifying and pursuing job and internship opportunities.
Career counseling begins in the first semester with an orientation to the Career Services Department. Students are introduced to career counselors and the services offered by the department. Career specialists maintain contact with students throughout their studies at Berkeley, providing them with various forums to explore career opportunities.
Ultimately, Career Services will assist with resume and interview preparation and work with each student to pursue full-time positions that are best suited to students' majors, interests, and abilities. Berkeley graduates are eligible for free career assistance.
Yes. Berkeley College holds numerous Career Fairs that provide opportunities for students and alumni to learn about potential employers and take advantage of new networking opportunities. Students are required to attend a Career Fair pre-session to learn tips about navigating the event and gain a realistic understanding of what to expect.
Library staff are also available to help students and alumni search for more information about a company and provide assistance in completing job applications.

Yes. Career Services works closely with all students throughout their time at Berkeley. Career Services will assist with resume and interview preparation and work with each student to pursue full-time positions that are best suited to students' majors, interests, and abilities. Berkeley graduates receive free career assistance.**
**Continuing Education programs are not included
Yes. High school graduates who are accepted to the Honors Program may receive up to a 50% tuition scholarship. Students must be enrolled full-time and maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA each award period to retain their scholarship. Awards are applied after all federal grants, Post-9/11 GI Bill® amounts, state grants, and state scholarships are applied, not to exceed the remaining tuition amount. Cost of books, supplies, and graduation fees are not included. May be combined with the Berkeley College Grant and Berkeley TAP/TAG Grant. Cannot be combined with any other Berkeley College grants or scholarships. There are 20 scholarships available for students attending a campus in New York and 20 scholarships available for students attending a campus in New Jersey or Online.
